There was a problem, the registration mail was not sent [closed]

Hello

im running a e107 website on Ubuntu 20.04.2 using xampp and when i try to register on my website i get a error
(There was a problem, the registration mail was not sent, please contact the website administrator.)
and i have smtp setup and i try sendting a test mail it worked fine but when i try to signup or click on forgot your password i get a error mail was not sent, please contact the website administrator.
